The Most Important Question of Your Life
Are you saved?
That is the most important question of your life.
God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again, or saved. “In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” (John 3:3)
Why must we be saved?
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Because we are sinners we are condemned to death. “For the wages (payment for) of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)
When we know and admit that we are sinners, separated from God, we realize why we must be saved (become God’s child for eternity) or suffer eternal separation (Hell) from God.
The Bible gives us God’s instructions of how to be born again.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) God made Jesus, His Son, (Who knew no sin) to be sin for us and allowed Him to die in our place (become our substitute) so that we could be made righteous (able to be God’s children). We must realize we are sinners, and then believe that because Jesus died for our sins, God can forgive us, and through that act of love we can be born again, or saved, assured of living eternally with God.
“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:12)
No matter where you are right now, if you have realized that you are a sinner and need salvation, you can repent and accept by faith His salvation. You might want to pray something like this:
“God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His death, burial and resurrection were for me. As an act of faith, I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank you for forgiving my sins, for the gift of salvation and for everlasting life. Amen.”
God’s power is able to save you, and keep you saved and enable you to live a victorious Christian life. There are three things to practice daily to grow spiritually:
- Pray – you talk to God.
- Read your Bible – God talks to you.
- Witness – Tell others about the saving grace you have received.
